Pool Demolition & Fill-In

Swimming Pool Removal & Fill-In

An unused pool is a liability line item: insurance, maintenance, safety fencing, and a hole in your yard's value. We remove it properly — demolished, drained, filled, compacted, and graded — so the yard becomes usable land again.

Who This Is For

You're in the right place.

For homeowners done with pool upkeep, buyers who want the pool gone before moving in, and sellers whose listing agent says the pool is costing them offers.

What’s Included

  • In-ground pool removal — partial (engineered fill-in) or full removal
  • Above-ground pool teardown and haul-away
  • Deck, patio, and pool-equipment removal
  • Proper drainage, anti-seep breaks, and compacted structural fill
  • Final grading — lawn-ready or construction-ready
  • Documentation of the fill for future buyers and appraisers

Why a Licensed Contractor Matters

Pool removal done wrong creates a sinkhole that surfaces years later — usually during a sale. Done right, it's an engineered fill: bottom broken for drainage, sides collapsed below grade, fill compacted in lifts, and the work documented. We're licensed (DMCR.003450), insured, and we put the documentation in your hands when we leave.

Questions

Straight answers.

How much does pool removal cost in Connecticut?

Above-ground pools typically run $1,000–$3,000. In-ground removal ranges $5,000–$15,000 depending on size, material (vinyl, fiberglass, gunite), access, and whether you choose partial or full removal.

Partial or full removal — which should I choose?

Partial removal (collapse and engineered fill) costs less and is fine for lawn and landscaping. Full removal takes out all pool material and is the right call if you may ever build over the footprint. We'll walk you through both with real numbers.

Do I need a permit to remove a pool?

Most Connecticut towns require a demolition or building permit for in-ground pool removal, plus utility disconnects for pool equipment. We handle the permits and the utility coordination.

Will the fill settle over time?

Not if it's done right. We compact structural fill in lifts and break the pool bottom for drainage, which prevents the settling and water-trapping that gives pool fill-ins a bad name. You also get documentation of how the work was performed.
